Propose a session for the 2007 Conference (Word document)

Held in Phoenix between October 31 and November 4, the 2006 Conference for Community Arts Education attracted 279 participants from across the U.S. and Canada.  The program, developed in response to National Guild member input, included tracks on education, fundraising, governance, management/leadership, and marketing.  Roundtable sessions were held for visual arts schools, divisional schools, rural schools, and large, medium and small independent schools.

Aida Aydinyan, director of the Barthelmes Conservatory in Tulsa, shared: “As always, this year's conference was meticulously organized to meet the diverse needs of the attendees.  The success of the conference is not only in that it is a fulfilling experience with wonderful and informative sessions and speakers but also because it is in a way 'group-therapy' with like-minded peers.  It is our chance of asking questions instead of answering them all the time; being advised instead of advising; being provided with insights instead of having to provide them.”

Many 2006 Conference presenters have made materials available from their sessions to be shared among Guild members. Conference presenters are either expert practitioners or master trainers who tailor their presentations for community arts education leaders.  Join the Guild today and gain access to these and many other resources.

Planning has already begun for the 2007 Conference.  Once again, Guild members and others will help design the kind of event that will meet their needs.

The schedule below lists many of the topics addressed.  Sessions are organized into progressive tracks.
